About Us
Jennifer J. Cole, CFA, MBA, is founder and president of Cole Financial Consulting, LLC, a financial planning and investment advisory firm registered in New Mexico and Colorado and based in the Albuquerque/Santa Fe area.
Jennifer began in the financial services industry in New York City in 1981. She rose to become a senior equity analyst with major Wall Street firms, providing her proprietary research on industrial companies to leading mutual fund companies, bank trust departments, pension fund managers, and retail stockbrokers. The challenges and rewards of that career were exhilarating, but they weren’t conducive to leading a balanced life. So Jen and her husband moved to New Mexico, where she has pursued her musical interests and a variety of local and national volunteering activities. After a career respite, Jen formed Cole Financial Consulting, LLC to share her passion for living a financially-aware and balanced life.
A Chartered Financial Analyst, Jennifer holds an MBA (Finance) from New York University, a Certificate in Financial Planning from Boston University, and a BS in Business (Finance and Economics) from Colorado State University. She has completed training in the The Kinder Method™ of Life Planning, and is New Mexico's first Licensed Insurance Consultant (licensed in life, accident, health, and annuities). The daughter of a U.S. Army officer, she was born in Germany and raised all over the United States. Jen's interests include sharing her financial knowledge with adults and youth, performing jazz flute, reading non-fiction, enjoying the countryside, and spending time with her husband, English springer spaniels, family, and friends.
Jennifer is a member of The CFA Institute, The New York Society of Security Analysts, The CFA Society of New Mexico (board member), The Society of Financial Service Professionals, and The Garrett Planning Network, Inc. She is the mentor to UNM's CFA Institute Research Challenge team and has been a guest lecturer at the UNM Anderson School of Management, Investment Management Program.
